Role Details
  • Contract Type:
    Temporary (3 months, with potential to become permanent)
  • Hours:

    Full-Time (36.5 hours per week)
  • Salary: £35,000 - £44,000 per annum (depending on experience)
What You’ll Do
  • Strategic Procurement:
    Work closely with the Head of Procurement to develop and implement effective procurement strategies aligned with organisational goals.
  • Supplier Management:
    Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, ensuring adherence to university policies and ethical standards.
  • Tender & Contract Oversight:
    Lead end-to-end procurement processes, including competitive tenders, contract negotiation, and ongoing contract management.
  • Value-for-Money Reporting:
    Prepare and present reports that demonstrate cost savings, efficiencies, and compliance with procurement regulations.
  • Risk & Compliance:
    Monitor procurement activities to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and internal policies.
What We’re Looking For
  • Minimum CIPS Level 3 (or working towards higher levels).
  • Proven track record in contract negotiation and supplier relationship management.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to identify cost‑saving opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including experience working with senior leadership teams.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • A collaborative team player who can also work independently and take initiative.
