• Provide subject‑matter expertise in the performance evaluation, quality and testing of PEEK polymer and components used in thermoplastic composite pipes and hybrid flexible pipes.
• Focus on key components such as extruded PEEK pipe (“Liner”) and unidirectional‑oriented continuous carbon‑fibre reinforced PEEK tapes (“UD Tape”), including multilayer composite structures.
• Act as the key point of contact for all matters related to PEEK polymer and component performance and quality characterisation for both internal and external customers.
• Collaborate closely with senior technical experts internally and externally to support the successful qualification and commercial adoption of thermoplastic composite pipes and hybrid flexible pipes.
• This role is heavily customer‑focused and requires excellent communication and leadership skills.

• Provide expertise in performance evaluation quality and testing of PEEK polymer and components related to the deployment in thermoplastic composite pipes and hybrid flexible pipes.
• Act as the primary contact for internal and external customers for the thermoplastic composites pipes program.
• Collaborate with senior technical experts internally and externally to support the successful qualification and commercial adoption of thermoplastic composite pipes and hybrid flexible pipes.
• Manage complex test programs both internally and with third‑party consultants.
• Coordinate and manage quality initiatives, including specification setting and continuous improvement projects.

• Fundamental polymer/materials science background with an emphasis on physical and mechanical properties.
• Degree qualified in a relevant discipline (a doctorate is an advantage but not essential; minimum 2:1).
• Understanding of structure‑property relationships for semi‑crystalline thermoplastics.
• Experience with extrusion and melt processing of polymer materials.
• Experience with composites is preferable.
• Background in product design, component specification setting and manufacturing.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience interpreting statistical data.
• Project management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Understanding of experimental design principles.
• Team working and engagement skills.
