We are recruiting for an HR Assistant to work on a permanent basis for our client based in Leyland.
The role is working for a manufacturing client. Previous experience of working in an engineering/manufacturing background would be preferred but not essential.
Salary is c £26-32,000 per annum plus 25 days' holiday and bank holidays, pension etc.
Recruitment and Onboarding- Coordinate end-to-end recruitment processes, including drafting job adverts, managing applications, arranging interviews, and maintaining communication with candidates.
- Support hiring managers in defining role requirements and selection criteria.
- Prepare offer letters and employment contracts in line with company policies.
- Administer onboarding activities, including pre-employment screening, induction scheduling, and maintaining personnel files.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR records, ensuring compliance with GDPR and internal governance.
- Manage HR databases and systems, generating reports when required.
- Administer employee changes such as promotions, transfers, contract amendments, and terminations.
- Monitor absence, holiday entitlements, and sickness reporting, ensuring timely escalation when required.
- Act as a first point of contact for HR-related queries, providing guidance to employees and line managers on HR policies, procedures, and best practice.
- Support the HR Manager with employee relations matters by organising meetings, preparing documentation, and recording outcomes.
- Assist in maintaining a positive employee experience and contributing to engagement initiatives.
- Ensure HR practices align with current employment law, industry standards, and organisational policies.
- Assist in the development, review, and communication of HR policies and procedures.
- Support internal and external audits by ensuring documentation and data are accurate and accessible.
- Previous experience in an HR Administrator or similar HR support role.
- Strong understanding of HR processes, employment law, and HR best practice.
- Proficient in using HR information systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and commitment to data integrity.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience in the engineering or manufacturing sector.
- CIPD Level 3 qualification (or currently working towards).
- Experience supporting payroll administration.
- Understanding of audit requirements and quality management systems.
