Mechanical Fitter

As a Mechanical Fitter you will provide the maintenance skills required to ensure the safe and continuous operation of electrical and mechanical engineering services and building plant throughout the Trust and for associated organisations. You will work with trade groups and contractors to deliver effective maintenance, repair and installation services, planning and organising activities to respond to user needs.

• Demonstrate leadership and multi‑skilled technical expertise across a range of maintenance craft areas.
• Plan and execute maintenance, repair and installation work on electrical and mechanical plant.
• Fault find complex systems using cause‑effect analysis, diagnose and resolve service failures.
• Provide on‑call service across the scope of your remit, ensuring rapid response to emergent issues.

• Assessed competence as a Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Craftsperson, achieved through relevant training and experience.
• Experience working within a healthcare or similar large engineering environment.
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
