Transport Contract Manager – Integrated Transport Service – Full Time – East Lancashire

Salary: £32,061-£36,363 per annum | Permanent | Full Time | 37 hours per week | Integrated Transport Service.

Location:
Network 65 Business Park, Hapton, Burnley (East of the County).
- Work within the Integrated Transport Services Team as part of a busy and responsive team.
- Plan and resourcing journeys both internally, using our own fleet of minibuses, and externally with approved Private Hire and Taxi suppliers.
- Manage a large number of contracts, monitoring performance and reviewing efficiency and cost‑effectiveness while ensuring compliance.
- Build strong network relationships with different departments within the authority and with Schools and Daytime Support Centres in your allocated area.
- Manage a team of Passenger Assistants including recruitment and induction, work allocation, performance and development appraisals, training plans, monitoring working time and approving pay records.
- Handle absence management and low‑level disciplinary issues.
- Support the most vulnerable in our community by ensuring they have transport to their destinations.
- Great mix of enthusiasm, initiative, knowledge and experience of staff and contract management; ability to manage and prioritise a varied and large workload.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and people skills (friendly, considerate, patient, empathetic).
- Excellent knowledge of IT systems including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and ability to learn new specialist software whilst ensuring high levels of customer service.
- Lead, supervise and organise a team.
- Aware and empathetic of the needs of people with Special Education Needs or Disabilities (SEND) and their families.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a wider team; maintain high levels of professionalism and courtesy under pressure.

- Covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975; DBS disclosure required.
