Air Import Operator – WR Logistics

Location: Wythenshawe

Salary: up to £35,000 per annum

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Hours: Monday to Friday, flexible hours (hybrid: 2 days from home, 3 days in office)

Join a well‑established international logistics company as an Airfreight Import Coordinator, managing the end‑to‑end coordination of airfreight operations, delivering excellent service, maximizing profit margins, and supporting business growth.

• Work closely with the Airfreight Manager and Import Supervisor to achieve departmental goals.
• Deliver excellent communication and service to existing clients, new clients, and internal teams.
• Develop long‑term, profitable relationships with customers and suppliers.
• Handle quotations, negotiate rates, and manage suppliers to maximize margins.
• Oversee airfreight shipments from booking to delivery, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
• Integrate new business smoothly into the service network.
• Support financial processes including invoicing, cost control, and profit monitoring.
• Identify and develop opportunities for new and existing trade lanes.
• Assist with urgent shipments or out‑of‑hours needs when required.

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in airfreight imports.
• Fully customs entry and Descartes compliant.
• Strong commercial awareness with a focus on profit optimisation.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Outlook and Excel.
• Exceptional organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize workloads.
• A positive, can‑do attitude with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.

• Dangerous Goods certification.
• Customs‑related qualifications or accreditations.
• Relevant academic qualifications (GCSEs, A Levels, NVQs, or Degree).
