Resource Consultant – Battery, EV & Gigafactory Recruitment

For the first 12 months you would be based in the UK, then you would be given a rare opportunity to travel up to 2‑4 weeks at a time to Shanghai, China, to work with customers and suppliers to scale up and support building the international pilot line.

Are you passionate about transforming lab innovations into scalable, commercial solutions? This role focuses on taking breakthrough technologies from pilot scale to multi‑GWh production. You’ll lead process scale‑up, support commissioning activities, optimise performance, and help shape the technical, economic, and safety foundations of the technology.

The Process Engineer will:

  • Lead the transition from pilot‑scale to commercial production, ensuring robust process performance and documentation (specifications, PFDs, HAZOPs, FMEA, QMS, KPIs).
  • Translate lab‑scale research into scalable operations through Pre‑FEED, pilot, and production stages.
  • Support partners during commissioning, start‑up, and performance testing of commercial units.
  • Drive pilot line production improvements, validating processing and QC equipment for scalability.
  • Identify scale‑up risks and collaborate with R&D, engineering, and quality teams to mitigate issues.
  • Explore opportunities for process intensification and cost reduction during scale‑up.

The Process Engineer will have:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience developing and scaling processes for commercial deployment.
  • Proven experience completing FEED studies or detailed design projects in oil & gas or automotive sectors.
  • Exposure to emerging technology sectors and global market operations.
  • Familiarity with ISO or other international codes and standards.
  • Ability to speak Mandarin and experience working in Asian markets.
