The Research and Knowledge Exchange Directorate (RKE) is seeking an experienced and motivated Impact Manager to lead the University’s preparations for the next Research Excellence Framework (). This is a pivotal appointment at a time of significant investment in research and knowledge exchange, offering the opportunity to shape our research culture, development pathways, and strategic positioning for future assessment exercises.
Aboutthe Role
Reporting to the Head of Research and Knowledge Exchange, the post holder will take responsibility for coordinating and delivering the University’s . You will work closely with the Pro Vice-Chancellor (RKE), Deans, Directors of Research, Unit of Assessment Leads, and colleagues across academic and professional services to ensure an evidence-based, high-quality and strategically aligned submission.
A central element of the role involves supporting the development, drafting and quality assurance of research outputs, impact case studies and environment statements. You will also provide expert advice on and guidance, offer tailored support to academics on identifying and evidencing research impact, and work collaboratively on initiatives to strengthen research culture and the research environment.
The post holder will additionally lead on the development and implementation of the University’s Research Culture plan and will contribute to the University’s researcher development agenda, coordinating programmes, managing concordat commitments including the HR Excellence in Research Award, and supporting initiatives that enhance an inclusive and sustainable research environment. You will manage a small team within the Research Environment workstream and collaborate closely with colleagues across the Directorate to ensure cohesive and effective delivery.
