The Opportunity

On behalf of our client, a well established social impact organisation within the Northwest, we are recruiting a Housing Support Officer to support individuals with a recent history of homelessness into secure, long term accommodation.

This is a frontline role with real impact. You will work directly with service users to prevent tenancy breakdown, support successful move on from temporary accommodation, and help people build the skills and stability needed to maintain independent living.

The Role

You will manage a caseload of individuals living in private rented, council or supported housing, delivering personalised, housing focused support. The role combines face to face visits, partnership working and accurate case management.

Key responsibilities include

• Supporting clients to settle into new tenancies and sustain accommodation long term

• Assessing support needs and risks and developing clear support plans

• Preventing homelessness through early intervention and tenancy sustainment

• Building strong relationships with landlords, housing providers and local authorities

• Working closely with partner agencies including probation, substance misuse, mental health and benefits services

• Advocating on behalf of clients to achieve positive housing and life outcomes

• Maintaining accurate records to evidence outcomes and impact

What We Are Looking For

This role suits someone confident, organised and outcomes driven, with a strong understanding of housing and homelessness services.

Essential experience and skills

• Experience supporting vulnerable or disadvantaged individuals

• Knowledge of homelessness, housing and welfare systems

• Ability to assess need and risk and make appropriate referrals

• Strong partnership working and stakeholder engagement skills

• Confident IT skills including case management systems

• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities

• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle

Desirable

• Experience working with homelessness services, supported housing or tenancy sustainment

• Understanding of substance misuse, offending behaviour or mental health support
