Your Role And Responsibilities

You will join a collaborative, inclusive, growth‑oriented culture where your development is taken seriously. Your journey at IBM begins in our Zurich office, where you complete a world‑class onboarding program and get to know your team, leaders, and the Swiss market. After that, you will move into an international assignment at our Digital Sales Center in Valencia (Spain), working in an international sales team and covering the Swiss market remotely.

As your career progresses, the aim is for you to return to a role based in the Swiss market and continue your growth with IBM. As a Technical Pre‑Sales Specialist, you'll be a collaborative technical expert and trusted advisor working with and across your clients, IBM's broader sales teams, and Business Partners to deliver compelling value propositions, manage the sales cycle, and ensure successful adoption and consumption of IBM software.

You'll understand clients' business and technical requirements within the current competitive landscape and, combining this with your knowledge of IBM's product portfolio.

Your Primary Responsibilities Will Include
  • Technical expertise:
    Take ownership as technical expert in your team, with a strong grasp of IBM’s offerings and how they fit into modern IT architectures.
  • Early sales cycle support:
    Provide technical support in the early stages of the sales cycle, including discovery sessions, demos, proofs of concept, and workshops that show how IBM solutions address real use cases.
  • Solution design and value articulation:
    Understand clients’ business and technical requirements within the current competitive landscape and translate them into value‑driving solution proposals that clearly differentiate IBM.
  • Collaboration with IBM sales teams and partners:
    Work closely with IBM sales teams and Business Partners, leveraging digital tools and CRM to manage your territory, qualify and progress opportunities, and co‑create winning strategies.
  • Product value highlight:
    Clearly communicate and demonstrate the business value of IBM’s Data & AI software compared to alternative approaches, focusing on measurable outcomes.
Preferred Education

Bachelor’s Degree

Required Technical And Professional Expertise Technical Proficiency

Strong technical foundation with curiosity for emerging technologies.

Pre‑sales Expertise

Experience in pre‑sales, sales engineering, or consulting, working with client subject matter experts to scope and demo solutions.

Consultative (Tech‑) Sales

Demonstrated experience in consultative sales, explaining complex products to technical and nontechnical audiences, leading to successful sales engagements.

Language Skills

Fluent in German plus English, in both writing and speaking.

Analytical Skills

Strong analytical skills, with a focus on using data for decision‑making and achieving positive business outcomes.

Willingness to relocate

To Valencia (Spain) up to 3 years and relocate back to home country after.
