We are seeking candidates with both education and 10+ years’ experience in fire protection system design.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and talented team player to join our highly successful office in Langley, BC
. The candidate must be able to work on site in the Langley office. The candidate must also be detail oriented and enjoy contributing to the success of the team in a progressive work environment.
The successful candidate must have their P.Eng. Certification and will work with and manage a fire protection design team at various levels of responsibility to deliver successful fire protection design projects, to our clients incorporating industry best practices.
CompensationCompensation levels will be based on relevant experience, experience level, relevant skills, professional qualifications, role and responsibilities and will be in the range of $80,000 to $110,000 per Annum.
ResponsibilitiesThe main responsibilities will include, but not necessarily limited to the following:
- Design calculations related to fire protection system design.
- Overseeing of the production of Revit fire protection drawings.
- Selection and sizing of fire protection equipment.
- Development and editing of fire protection specifications.
- Supervision and mentoring of junior staff within the design team.
- Reviewing fire protection drawings for completeness and coordination with other disciplines.
- Onsite investigation of existing systems for coordination and design.
- Perform various other duties as assigned by the project manager.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- University degree, college/technology diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Systems.
- P. Eng. and registered with EGBC.
- 10+ years of Industry experience in fire protection design and knowledge of NFPA codes and standards.
- Able to read Architectural, Structural, Mechanical and Electrical drawings.
- Ability to multi-task and meet project deadlines.
- Ability to deal with site related construction correspondence such as answering RFI’s and issuing of site instructions.
- Experience in client management and quality control procedures.
- Experience in public and private sector project design in various market sectors.
