Cardiology Technologist (Diploma) – Langley Memorial Hospital

Salary: CAD $35.27 – $44.05 / hour

Job Summary: We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Casual Cardiology Technologist (Diploma) to join our team at Langley Memorial Hospital located in Langley, B.C. You will help deliver prompt and professional service. As a Cardiology Technologist, you will perform ECG testing, stress testing, Holter and Ambulatory Blood Pressure monitoring, and may assist with Pacemaker interrogation under supervision. You will record and interpret data, enter information into Meditech, maintain files and equipment, and train students and new staff.

• Performs Electro Cardiogram (ECG) testing, stress testing, Holter and/or event monitor testing and Ambulatory Blood Pressure (ABP) testing.
• Explains procedures and answers patient questions in preparation for testing.
• Scans and analyzes ECG, stress and Holter monitor test strips; selects and assesses portions of test strips and summarizes for interpretation by medical staff.
• Under supervision, may assist with Pacemaker interrogation, monitoring and documentation.
• Enters patient test information as per department protocols, into Meditech to provide Electronic Health Records database for client/patient files.
• Maintains appropriate files and reports according to established department procedures/policies.
• Demonstrates ECG testing procedures and operation of related equipment to students and new staff.
• Provides orientation and training to ECG staff and other hospital staff as directed.
• Maintains equipment by cleaning, lubricating and replacing items as required; completes requisitions for repair using established procedures.
• Distributes patient reports to appropriate wards and/or departments.
• Provides input and assists with the development, implementation and update of department policies and procedures.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Education and Experience: Completion of a recognized Cardiology Technology Program at the Diploma level plus two (2) years recent related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists (CSCT) certified.
