We are seeking a multi-skilled Facilities Technician to take ownership of site maintenance, repairs, and ensure the smooth running of production lines. This is a part-time position (2-3 days per week) with flexible working hours, offered on a temporary basis with the potential for long-term work.
You'll thrive in a small company environment, be comfortable managing day-to-day tasks independently, and have a strong commitment to safety and compliance. You'll also play a key role in developing systems that support operational efficiency while maintaining compliance with safety standards.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out regular operational checks on plant equipment to minimise downtime.
- Maintain critical spare parts inventory to ensure continuity of production.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on plant machinery and facilities, including fault-finding and attending breakdowns promptly.
- Organise and manage external contractors, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and within budget.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements and site standards, including Health, Safety & Environmental regulations and documentation.
- Previous experience as a multi-skilled maintenance technician.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to prepare Permits to Work and manage safe systems of work.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations, including:
- Health & Safety at Work Act 1974
- Work at Height Regulations
- LOLER (Lifting Operations & Lifting Equipment)
- Electricity at Work Regulations
- Pressure Equipment Safety Regulations
- COSHH and Local Exhaust Ventilation requirements
Pay rates:
- £13 to £16 ph dependent on experience
Shift
Schedule:
- Part time 2/3 days a week. Flexible working hours
