The Role
The Accounting Manager ensures the accuracy, reliability, and timeliness of our financial information. This role owns the month-end close process, leads day-to-day accounting operations, and supports strategic decisions with clean, well-controlled financial data. By building strong processes and guiding the accounting team, the Accounting Manager enables leadership to make faster, better-informed business decisions.
Key Responsibilities- Manage, lead and mentor an accounting team of 4 direct reports (GL & AP accounting).
- Own the month-end close process end to end, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting with minimal supervision, and proactively identifying and resolving accounting issues.
- Lead day-to-day accounting operations for parent company & all its subsidiaries.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, reporting & ad hoc analysis as required.
- Review and approve all transactions entered in the financial system by the team.
- Collaborate with external accountants for year-end reconciliations and monthly/quarterly or annual tax returns (VAT, CIT, etc.).
- Supervise year-end closing processes and manage audits with external parties for parent company & its subsidiaries.
- Coordinate with external teams for any projects impacting accounting.
- Solid understanding of core accounting and finance concepts, including month-end close, revenue and expense recognition, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Experience supporting business decision-making through accurate reporting, analysis, and clear communication of financial results.
- Ability to understand how operational activities flow through to the financial statements.
- Experience working within a control framework and supporting audits and compliance requirements.
- CPA certification a strong plus.
- 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years experience in a similar Accounting Manager or senior-level role.
- Proficiency with accounting/ERP systems.
- Advanced skills in Excel/Google Sheets (pivot tables, lookups) and comfort working with large data sets.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, propose solutions, and drive follow-through.
- High attention to detail paired with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
- Clear, concise communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop team members.
