As a Digital EDA / CAD Engineer, you will play a central role in shaping and maintaining the digital IC design environment across the organisation. Working closely with front-end and back-end design teams, you’ll help define robust methodologies, improve automation, and ensure tools and flows are fit for purpose as designs scale in complexity.
You’ll be involved throughout the lifecycle of EDA infrastructure: from evaluating and rolling out tools, to supporting engineers day-to-day, to continuously improving flows based on real design challenges. The role combines hands‑on technical work with collaboration across multiple engineering disciplines.
Key Contributions- Design, implement, and evolve digital IC design flows and supporting infrastructure
- Evaluate new EDA tools and technologies, helping drive adoption and best practice
- Support engineering teams by resolving tool and flow issues in a pragmatic, time‑critical environment
- Develop automation and scripts that improve productivity, consistency, and quality
- Provide guidance, documentation, and training to design engineers
- Act as a technical interface with EDA vendors to troubleshoot and improve tool usage
- Help drive alignment on methodologies and workflows across projects and teams
- Strong programming and scripting background (Shell, Python, Tcl, Perl; Make and GUI tools beneficial)
- Solid understanding of digital IC design flows, with exposure to analog and mixed‑signal environments
- Proven ability to build and maintain scalable EDA/CAD flows used by multiple stakeholders
- Comfortable working with complex tool chains and learning new tools quickly
- Methodical approach to debugging, documentation, and user support
- Collaborative mindset when working with designers, verification engineers, and CAD peers
- (Nice to have) Some RTL familiarity and basic knowledge of System Verilog or VHD
- BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or similar
- Proven experience supporting or developing digital front‑end and back‑end flows
- Exposure across synthesis, simulation, place & route, timing, power, physical verification, and sign‑off
- Experience with power integrity and EM/IR analysis tools (e.g. Voltus or equivalent)
- Hands‑on experience with industry‑standard EDA tools and licensing environment
