SAP Technical Architect

SAP Technical Architect - 12 Month contract
Start: 1st October 2025

Location:

Lausanne, Switzerland
Rate Circa: 1,000 CHF per day
Hybrid: 2-3 days on site

We are seeking an experienced SAP Technical Architect with expertise in Microsoft Azure to design, implement, and support scalable and secure SAP solutions in a hybrid or fully cloud-based environment. The ideal candidate will have deep technical knowledge of SAP systems (e.g., S/4

HANA, BW/4

HANA), strong cloud architecture skills, and a proven ability to align SAP technologies with business and IT strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design end-to-end SAP architectures on Azure, including high availability, disaster recovery, scalability, and performance optimization.
• Lead SAP technical architecture discussions across infrastructure, security, networking, data, and integration.
• Define and implement cloud migration strategies for SAP workloads (greenfield, brownfield, bluefield).
• Collaborate with SAP Basis teams and Azure cloud engineers to ensure smooth implementation and operation of SAP systems.
• Provide technical leadership for SAP on Azure initiatives, including proof of concepts, architecture design sessions, and technical workshops.
• Ensure SAP systems are integrated securely with Azure services (Azure AD, Key Vault, Sentinel, etc.).
• Contribute to the definition and enforcement of SAP architecture standards, governance, and best practices.
• Participate in sizing exercises, cost optimization, and licensing assessments for SAP workloads in Azure.
• Support SAP upgrade and transformation projects (e.g., S/4
  
  HANA migrations).
• Work closely with business stakeholders, project managers, and other architects to deliver scaleable, reliable, and compliant solutions

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience in SAP technical architecture, Basis administration, or SAP infrastructure roles.
• 3+ years of experience designing and implementing SAP workloads on Azure (IaaS and/or PaaS).
• Deep understanding of SAP applications (S/4
  
  HANA, ECC, BW, PI/PO, Solution Manager, etc.) and SAP HANA database architecture.
• Proficient in Azure services relevant to SAP:
  Virtual Machines, Azure Net App Files, Azure Backup, Azure Site Recovery, Express Route, Monitor, Key Vault, etc.
• Hands-on experience with SAP migrations to cloud (Lift-and-Shift or Transformation).
• Strong grasp of infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., ARM templates, Terraform, Bicep) and CI/CD processes.
• Solid knowledge of security and compliance in cloud-based SAP environments.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
