Job Description
As a Mining Process Sector Manager, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing a defined scope within complex mining projects. You will lead a multidisciplinary team (engineering, procurement, construction, quality, HSE, etc.) and act as a technical expert in mining processes. You will be involved in all stages of the project lifecycle—from design to commissioning—ensuring performance, safety, regulatory compliance, and process optimization.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management and Sector Coordination
Lead a project sector in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Manage interfaces between disciplines and other project sectors.
Ensure compliance with quality, safety, environmental, budget, and schedule requirements.
Prepare execution plans, estimates, service proposals, and feasibility studies.
Monitor performance indicators (cost, schedule, quality, safety) with support from project controls.
Mining Process Engineering
Design and optimize processes related to ore extraction, treatment, water and tailings management.
Perform simulations, mass and heat balances, and equipment sizing.
Prepare technical documentation: PFDs, P&IDs, datasheets, equipment specifications.
Identify process-related risks (e.g., HAZOP) and propose control measures.
Technical Leadership and Mentorship
Supervise and support intermediate and junior engineers.
Coordinate study, design, and construction teams.
Collaborate with vendors and evaluate technical proposals.
Participate in the review and approval of technical deliverables.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation
Integrate lessons learned and promote continuous process improvement.
Propose innovative solutions tailored to environmental and regulatory challenges.
Contribute to the optimization of processing circuits, ventilation, and tailings management.
