Reporting to the Press Office Manager, the Press Office Executive will be responsible for helping to drive and protect Jet2's external reputation with media/press.

The job holder will help to drive brand awareness across national, regional, trade, and broadcast media, and will play a role in drafting press materials and supporting with media relations. The successful candidate will also play a role in protecting the brand.

The Press Office Executive will help develop and execute PR campaigns to keep Jet2 front of mind with media, and will support the Press Office with a range of general press office/media relations duties. The successful candidate will ideally have studied PR/Communications to degree level and have some first‑hand experience of how a busy press office and the media works.

What you’ll be doing :
  • Helping manage and deliver a calendar of proactive events and news stories to keep Jet2 front of mind with customers and journalists.
  • Researching and writing press releases, as well as news copy for the Jet2 news page.
  • Managing a busy programme of press flights and press trips.
  • Working with people at all levels and location/regions within the business to spot news stories and generate great news content.
  • Working with, and managing, our PR agencies to ensure effective delivery of plans within agreed budgets.
  • Working with our media monitoring agency to ensure that all media coverage is monitored, evaluated and reported to senior stakeholders properly.
  • Drafting and writing statements in response to media enquiries on a wide range of issues.
  • You will report into the Press Office Manager and will also be expected to maintain great working relationships with people at all levels.
What you’ll have:
  • Experience in writing for PR/media/journalism.
  • Keen interest in news and responding to the news agenda.
  • Ability to work with people at all levels, either in-house or a PR agency.
  • Strong organisational, planning and project management skills.
  • Ability to prioritise competing demands and work under pressure.
  • Experience of developing and delivering events.
  • Proactive, can‑do attitude and happy working as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to travel throughout the UK, and abroad.
