Weare inviting applications to fill our Senior Clinical Fellow vacancy at The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust in Department of Urology which is full-timefixed-term for 12 months.
Candidates must be fully registered with the General Medical Council and must hold MRCS atthe time of application. Candidates should preferably hold the FRCS(Urol) or equivalent. The successful candidate will be able pursue sub-specialty post-CCTlevel training in Pelvic-oncological Urology.

Main duties of the jobDUTIESOF THE POST
To perform clinic duties appropriate to the post. These include attendance at outpatient clinics, attendance atday-case and inpatient theatre lists, attendance at clinical meetings including
MDTs and maintenance of appropriate records of treatments, including the dictation of clinical notes and letters.
To contribute to the teaching ofnursing, undergraduate and junior medical staff.
To contribute to Post-graduate teaching.
The appointee will also have toperform duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances at the request of the appropriate Consultant, in consultation, when practicable, withboth senior and junior colleagues. Ithas been agreed between the profession and the Department of Health that, while juniors accept that they will perform such duties, additional commitments arising under this sub-section are particular, juniors should not be required to undertake work of this nature for prolonged periods or on a regular basis.
The specific job plan will be subjectto regular review between the appointee and the consultant.

Jobresponsibilities Knowledge, skills and experience required
- The main purpose for the post is to develop subspecialist skills in pelvic oncology, including robotic surgery for bladder and prostate cancer. At the endof fellowship, the post holder is expected to achieve knowledge and surgical skills to work independently as a Pelvic Uro-Oncologist. The post holder isalso expected to support the pelvic oncology team in delivering general urological services in Leeds.
- Must hold FRCS (Urol) or equivalent.
- Be eligible for full registration with the GMC at time of appointment and hold a current licence to practice.
- Should have evidence of achievement
CCT in Urology or within 6 months of doing so. - Be eligible to work in the UK.
- Have previous experience at registrar level in Urology.
- Demonstrate the ability to operate effectively under pressure & remain objective in highly emotive/pressurised situations.
- Be aware of their own limitations& when to ask for help.
- Have the capacity to communicate effectively & sensitively with others.
- Be able to discuss treatment options with patients in a way they can understand.
- Have the capacity to bring a range of approaches to problem solving.

- FRCS (Urol), Post-CCT
- 1 years experience in Urology after full GMC registration or equivalent, and evidence of achievement of foundation competences, in line with GMC standards / Good Medical Practice.
