Facility/Maintenance Area Manager – Amazon

Bring your expertise in reliability maintenance engineering to lead a team of expert technicians that keep Amazon’s equipment performing at its best across hundreds of facilities in Europe.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support site compliance with safety policies and procedures.
  • Implement EU network standards, plan preventative maintenance, and ensure technical availability.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to collect and analyse data to improve processes.
  • Deliver and support both site-based and network-level projects.
  • Lead, support, and mentor your team to develop their career.
A Day in the Life

Based at one of Amazon’s operational sites, you will give practical guidance to your team and get a clear vision of what’s happening at your site. In a fast‑paced environment you will collect data, solve problems, create an operational plan to improve productivity and efficiency, and lead your team, manage performance, and development, including organising additional training.

About The Team

The Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team keeps equipment performing at its best. We are technically minded, excellent team players, and guided by experienced leaders. We maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment across our global network of fulfillment centres, handling most aspects of Amazon’s technical side. Our work focuses on reducing downtime so customers receive their orders on time. Opportunities for progression exist both within the RME team and across Amazon.

Basic

Qualifications
  • Experience in engineering team management.
  • English‑language communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Relevant experience as part of a maintenance team in an industrial or production environment handling complex business processes.
  • Experience liaising and managing relationships with stakeholders, including third‑party vendors.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A degree in Engineering or another technical field.
  • Higher National Diploma (HND), Higher National Certificate (HNC), BTEC, or equivalent.
  • Experience with statutory regulations, such as compliance checks and machine safety protocols.
  • Experience with automated equipment, packaging machinery, sortation, and conveyor systems.
  • Experience with data analysis tools and PLC‑based control systems.
  • Experience with project management or continuous improvement methods such as Kaizen, Lean, Six Sigma.
  • Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
