Senior Structural Engineer

My client is looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to join their growing consultancy team in Leeds. The Role
As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will lead the design and delivery of structural projects from concept through to construction. You’ll manage client relationships, mentor junior team members, and ensure technical excellence and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
Lead structural design on a range of residential and commercial buildings, including low- to mid-rise developments
Prepare calculations, design reports, and technical drawings for steel, concrete, timber, and masonry structures
Oversee project delivery, from concept through to detailed design and construction support
Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project coordination
Supervise and mentor junior engineers and technicians
Ensure all work complies with Building Regulations, British Standards, and relevant industry codes

What They’re Looking For
Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
Chartered or near-chartered status (IStruct

E or ICE)
Minimum 6+ years’ experience in structural design within a UK consultancy
Strong technical ability with proven experience in residential and commercial structural design
Proficient in structural analysis software (e.g., Tekla Tedds, Robot, Master Series, etc.)
Excellent communication, report writing, and leadership skills
Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines with minimal supervision
