Senior Civil Engineer – Highways & Drainage Design

Leeds (Hybrid Working)
Salary: £40,000 – £55,000 + benefits

A well-established civil and structural engineering consultancy delivering high-quality design solutions across residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer with strong highways and drainage experience to join their growing civil engineering team in Leeds.
The Role
You’ll take a leading role in the design and delivery of infrastructure schemes, working on projects from concept through to detailed design. The role involves close collaboration with clients, local authorities, and design teams, producing adoptable and private works drawings and reports to current standards.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the design of infrastructure works, including highways and drainage, for residential and commercial developments.
Prepare and review drawings, reports, and technical documents using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Micro Drainage (Info Drainage).
Work confidently with Section 278, 38, 104, and 106 agreements, ensuring designs meet local authority adoption standards.
Support junior engineers and technicians, providing mentorship and technical guidance.
Liaise effectively with clients, local authorities, and other consultants to deliver coordinated design solutions.
Requirements
Degree-qualified Civil Engineer (BEng/MEng or equivalent).
Proven experience in highways and drainage design within a UK consultancy.
Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Micro Drainage (Info Drainage).
Sound understanding of SuDS and current UK design standards.
Excellent communication and coordination skills.
