Mechanical Engineering Assessor
Full-Time | Permanent
Salary: £32,000 - £36,000 per annum
We are looking to appoint a motivated and experienced Mechanical Engineering Assessor to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled mechanical engineer who is passionate about developing the next generation of talent.
The Role
As a Mechanical Engineering Assessor, you will work closely with Level 3 Mechanical Engineering apprentices, supporting them throughout their apprenticeship journey. You will be responsible for visiting apprentices in the workplace, assessing their progress, and ensuring their work meets the required standards so they remain on track to successfully achieve their qualification.
Key Responsibilities:
Assessing Level 3 Mechanical Engineering apprentices in the workplace
Visiting employers to observe, assess, and support apprentice development
Reviewing evidence, carrying out quality checks, and providing constructive feedback
Monitoring apprentice progress and ensuring timely completion of qualifications
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date assessment records
Working collaboratively with employers, apprentices, and internal teams to ensure high-quality delivery
About You
The ideal candidate will be an experienced mechanical engineering professional who is keen to move into (or continue within) an assessment role.
Essential Requirements:
NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
Strong industry experience within mechanical engineering, including areas such as:
Machining
Milling
Turning
Mechanical maintenance
Desirable (but not essential):
Assessor qualification (e.g. TAQA, A1, CAVA)
Please note:
this qualification is not essential, as we will fully fund assessor training for the right candidate.
