Graduate Transport Planner (2026 Programme)
Apply to the Graduate Transport Planner position as part of our 2026 Programme. The role is based in Leeds, England and is full‑time.
OverviewOur Transport Planning Team is the leading consultancy in transport planning and infrastructure design in the UK development industry. With over 150 staff across offices in London, Cardiff, Birmingham, Manchester, Bristol, Exeter, Leeds, Edinburgh and more, we deliver nationally significant regeneration schemes, new settlements, logistics hubs, rail freight interchanges, power stations and other public and private sector projects.
The RoleWe are looking for an enthusiastic, articulate and analytical graduate to join our team for the 2026 Programme. You will work on a variety of projects across the UK and collaborate with planners, architects, developers and councils.
Responsibilities- Coordinate traffic and movement surveys, including data analysis.
- Produce Transport Statements, Transport Assessments and Travel Plans.
- Research and investigate local and national policy.
- Conduct trip forecasting using the TRICS database or first‑principles methods.
- Contribute to the formulation of innovative transport solutions.
- Assist with the design of infrastructure prioritising active and shared travel, utilising CAD and GIS.
- Support planning appeals, written representations, hearings, public inquiries and stakeholder events.
- Develop client relationships through involvement in key project deliveries.
- Recent graduate or final‑year student with a relevant degree.
- Full UK driving licence required.
- Interest in development planning industry.
- Willingness to attend site visits.
- Strong report‑writing skills.
- Ability to solve problems and contribute positively to team solutions.
- Experience with junction modelling using JUNCTIONS or LINSIG.
- Confidence working collaboratively with architects, planners, developers and councils.
