Responsibilities- Delivery input into the concept and detailed master planning process.
- Working within our established Strategic Environmental Assessments (SEA) delivery team.
- Being involved in project management and environmental coordination across a range of strategic planning environmental deliverables.
- Supporting the development of our emerging overseas Environmental Social Impact Assessment (EIA & ESIA) offering.
- Feeding into our advisory services by providing clients with key environmental decision‑making support and undertaking technical reviews of a range of environmental studies.
- Being involved in business and team development opportunities, with a view of supporting our work in winning future projects internationally.
- Understanding of a wide range of environmental aspects and the ability to work as a generalist with technical specialists.
- Experience as a point of contact to project leaders and representing Buro Happold at meetings with clients, professionals and suppliers.
- Technical report writing, including contributing to concept and detailed master planning reports, EIA, ESIA and SEA.
- Creation of presentations using infographics and imagery to visualize complex data.
- Carrying out studies, research and analysis.
- Project management, including budgeting for specific assignments and projects.
- Compiling geographic data, analysing mapped information, utilising site data in GIS applications and presenting outputs innovatively.
- Knowledge of how to apply emerging AI technologies to improve ways of working.
- Track record of working on SEA/ESIA projects internationally in a project‑management capacity.
- Ability to provide expert advice on environmental issues relating to SEA/ESIA strategy.
- Keen interest in involved in work‑winning and responding to technical and commercial proposals.
- Proactive and reactive to deadlines, especially linked to project and proposal delivery.
- Success in leading multi‑disciplinary teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in a client‑facing role, providing advice directly to clients.
- Confidence to lead in challenging situations.
- Excellent knowledge of project and business financial and management systems.
- Membership of an appropriate professional body (e.g., ISEP).
