Data Engineer

Contract Type : 5 months (Outside IR35)

Location : Remote, United Kingdom

Daily Rate : £350 per day

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Data Engineer to join a leading consulting firm on a 5-month contract basis. This is a fully remote role, based in the United Kingdom. The role is deemed Outside IR35 and is ideal for candidates who possess a strong technical background in data transformations and migrations, particularly in cloud environments such as AWS and GCP.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines, supporting large-scale data migration projects, and ensuring data quality and integrity across various systems. You will work closely with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions that align with business objectives.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in handling complex data workflows and a strong command of Python programming. You should be comfortable working in agile environments, collaborating across cross‑functional teams, and taking full ownership of engineering solutions from design through to implementation.

• Design, implement and optimise data pipelines for large scale transformations and migrations
• Collaborate with data analysts, architects and business stakeholders to understand data requirements
• Develop high performance data processing solutions using Python
• Utilise cloud platforms such as AWS and / or GCP for data storage and processing
• Ensure robust and maintainable data solutions through best practices and automation
• Contribute to the ongoing improvement of data architecture and engineering standards

• Significant experience in data engineering roles, with a strong focus on transformations and migrations
• Advanced proficiency in Python for data engineering tasks
• hands‑on experience with cloud platforms – AWS or GCP is essential, both would be highly beneficial
• Deep understanding of ETL / ELT processes and data pipeline development
• Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently in remote settings
• Excellent communication skills and a consultative mindset
