Multiskilled Engineering Technician – Mars (West Yorkshire)

Location: Batley, Kirklees – West Yorkshire.

Salary: £50,400‑£6,700 (DOE, including shift allowance).

Shift Pattern: 12‑hour rotation, 7‑7 with a 2‑day/2‑night week, 2‑day/3‑night week and 3‑day/2‑night week in a 3‑week cycle.

What We’re Looking For
  • Solid foundation in engineering built through a recognised apprenticeship.
  • HNC level in an electrical engineering discipline and sound mechanical aptitude.
  • Proven working knowledge of 415 V distribution, motor control, PLC software, process control philosophies, level 2 systems and networks (pneumatics and hydraulics an advantage).
  • Understanding and knowledge of a broad range of electromechanical devices.
  • Reasonable working knowledge of H&S regulations.
  • Computer literate and comfortable with internal software such as Atlas PM, SAP, and Microsoft packages.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform fault diagnosis leading to resolution of random failures on production machinery, identifying root causes.
  • Determine when and which technical issues are escalated to the support organisation.
  • Provide technical expertise and information to assist others in resolving equipment issues.
  • Ensure safe and required delivery of all services (steam, air, water, gas, electricity) to and from the factory during shifts.
  • Plan maintenance activities for self and others to achieve a seamless transition between maintenance and production availability.
  • Ensure planned preventive maintenance is completed correctly with the area engineer.

Multi Skilled Engineer – CBRE (Leeds)

Location: Leeds, United Kingdom.

About the Role
  • Identify and manage risks on site equipment.
  • Provide electrical and mechanical expertise to the maintenance department.
  • Write and follow risk assessments, ensuring safe completion of tasks.
  • Work on three‑phase systems up to 440 V; handle motors, gearboxes, valves and other equipment.
  • Use mobile devices to project and complete CAFM maintenance tasks.
  • Coordinate with onsite site services for building‑services issues.
  • Deputise for the Shift Leader during leave or sickness.
  • Work overtime, including nights and weekends, when required.
  • Perform ad‑hoc duties as needed.
Requirements
  • Recognised or time‑served apprenticeship in electrical or mechanical engineering.
  • Strong experience in manufacturing maintenance.
  • City & Guilds 236 Pt 1‑2 Electrical qualifications or equivalent (18th Edition).
  • City & Guilds Mechanical qualifications to an acceptable standard.
  • Good multi‑skilled ability.
  • Experience with 3‑phase motors, drives, and inverters.
  • Hydraulic/pneumatic experience.
  • NVQ Level 2 in Electrical and Mechanical.
  • Ability to supervise contractors and write risk and method statements.
  • Ability to understand and write permits.
