About the Role
We’re looking for a Technical Engineer to join our expanding technical team. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working on structural details, façade systems, and bespoke fixing solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience in the construction industry and a solid understanding of load analysis, structural performance, and design for manufacture.
- Design and detail masonry support systems, lintels, and façade fixing solutions to meet client and project requirements.
- Carry out load analysis and structural calculations in accordance with relevant standards. (Training provided)
- Prepare 2D and 3D design drawings using AutoCAD and Revit
. - Liaise with architects, structural engineers, and contractors to develop effective and buildable solutions.
- Support the sales and estimating teams with technical input and design feasibility advice.
- Ensure all designs comply with structural, safety, and quality standards.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and product development.
- Proven experience as a Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer within the Mechanical or Industrial Engineering sector.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar).
- Strong background in sheet metal fabrication
, laser cutting
, and welding
. - Understanding of manufacturing processes
, tolerances
, and material selection
. - Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality technical documentation.
- City & Guilds Level 3 qualification (or higher) in Sheet Metal, Welding, or Mechanical Engineering highly desirable.
- Apprenticeship or equivalent practical experience in a similar manufacturing or engineering environment highly desirable.
