This firm delivers innovative, sustainable Mechanical, Electrical & Public Health design solutions across sectors including commercial, healthcare, education, industrial, and large-scale residential projects throughout the UK and internationally. With an expanding client base and a portfolio of prestigious, high-value developments, they are seeking a dynamic leader to guide their MEP division through its next phase of growth.

The Role

As MEP Director, you will take strategic and operational responsibility for the delivery of MEP design projects, leading a multidisciplinary team of engineers while maintaining close relationships with clients, design partners, and contractors. You will play a key part in shaping the direction of the business — influencing project strategy, mentoring senior engineers, and helping to drive technical excellence across all building services disciplines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and direction to the MEP design team.
  • Oversee project delivery, ensuring quality, innovation, and compliance with standards.
  • Manage client relationships and represent the company at a senior level.
  • Lead bids, proposals, and fee negotiations.
  • Support business development, networking, and growth strategy.
  • Ensure technical excellence and consistency across all MEP designs.
  • Mentor and develop engineering talent within the team.
About You
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) — essential.
  • Proven experience leading MEP design teams within a consultancy environment.
  • Strong commercial awareness and client-facing ability.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Broad technical understanding of Mechanical, Electrical, and Public Health systems.
  • Ambitious, strategic thinker with a collaborative approach.
