We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to take the commercial lead on projects within an M&E / Solar & HV division. This is a proactive, autonomous role, providing commercial oversight from project inception through to completion. You will work closely with the service delivery team to ensure projects are delivered on time and budget, while maintaining strong client relationships and supporting repeat business.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as the commercial lead on all M&E projects, providing oversight of costs and commercial performance.
Produce monthly reports on commercial matters, reviewing CVRs, cash, accruals, and highlighting risks.
Interrogate estimates and convert them into client Schedule of Rates (SOR).
Manage NEC/JCT & Schedule of Rates contracts effectively.
Liaise with clients, architects, and internal teams to maintain positive relationships.
Support the delivery team to ensure projects are profitable, on time, and within budget.
Share knowledge with colleagues and contribute to team development.
Skills & Experience Required:
BSc Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
3–5 years post-graduate experience as a Project or Senior QS in building services / M&E.
Previous experience with independent building services contractors or national firms.
Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
Excellent attention to detail with accurate reporting and documentation.
Proficient in NEC / JCT contracts and SOR management.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrable ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively in a team environment.
