National Head of Wealth Management

My client is a nationally established professional services group offering accountancy, advisory, and fully independent financial planning services. With strong UK coverage and a reputation for quality, the firm combines national capability with the personal approach of an independent practice.

Their Wealth Management division is expanding, and an excellent senior leadership opportunity has arisen.

The Opportunity

A key position is available for an experienced and commercially driven financial planning professional to lead the firm’s national Wealth Management function.

As National Head of Wealth Management, you will set the strategic direction of the division, drive growth across multiple offices, and ensure clients receive exceptional, regulated financial advice that supports their long-term objectives. You will work closely with Partners across the business to enhance collaboration, increase referrals, and strengthen the overall client proposition.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the Wealth Management division, delivering a strategic business plan with clear revenue and expansion targets.

• Build strong relationships with clients, Partners, and internal teams to drive referrals and new business.

• Provide comprehensive financial planning advice across pensions, investments, protection, and estate planning.

• Maintain oversight of FCA compliance, including SMF
16 (Compliance Oversight) and SMF
17 (MLRO), supported by external specialists.

• Oversee research, product analysis, and suitability processes to ensure exceptional client outcomes.

• Manage, mentor, and develop the team (currently a paraplanner and administrator).

• Own the division’s P&L and ensure profitable, sustainable growth.

Requirements

• Chartered or working towards Chartered / Certified Financial Planner status.

• Proven experience as a Financial Adviser with FCA regulatory responsibility.

• Strong technical knowledge of pensions, investments, and financial planning legislation.

• Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.

• Strong understanding of major platforms and planning tools, including Intelligent Office, Genovo, FE Analytics, Dynamic Planner, iPipeline, and Voyant.
