CEO at Gifford and Partners (GAP) and Executive GAPWe’re supporting a business at a genuinely exciting stage of its journey, defined by change, growth and increasing complexity
, both organically and through acquisition. As a result, they’re looking to appoint a technically strong, commercially aware Finance Manager into the a central role, with a clear focus on reporting, consolidation and financial rigour as well as getting a birds-eye view of the whole business.
If you’ve built a solid technical accounting foundation (likely big4/top
10 or mid sized practice background) or transitioned to industry already, enjoy working close to senior stakeholders, and want to play a meaningful role in shaping how a growing group reports, controls and communicates its numbers, this could be a very compelling next step into a senior Finance Manager position.
As Finance Manager, You will operate as a key figure within a finance centre of excellence
, working closely with the Head of Finance and acting as a trusted conduit of high-quality financial information to the wider leadership team and CFO. This is not a back office reporting role, it’s a visible and influential Finance Manager position that is key to steering decisions. Alongside core reporting and consolidation responsibilities, you’ll gain exposure to projects, systems development, and M&A activity
, while leading and developing a team.
- Delivering accurate, insightful monthly, quarterly and annual group reporting
, including consolidation. - Acting as a right-hand support to the Head of Finance
, owning key information flows to Board and wider business. - Leading financial meetings and bridging the gap between finance and operational stakeholders
. - Driving financial accounting standards, controls and forecasting discipline across the group.
- Producing and presenting high-level financial reports and performance metrics to senior leadership.
- Managing, mentoring and developing members of the reporting team.
- Supporting change initiatives and projects aligned to the group’s growth agenda.
- A qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA) with typically 3–5 years’ post-qualification experience likely having trained in the Big4/Top
10 or mid-sized accounting practice, and quite possibly, transitioned to industry already. - A strong grounding in technical accounting, reporting and consolidation
, ideally from a complex environment. - Comfortable operating in a business that is evolving, acquisitive and change-hungry.
- Confident working with senior stakeholders and presenting financial information clearly and credibly.
- Highly analytical, detail-driven and commercially curious.
- Ideally, advanced Excel skills would be advantageous.
This is a rare opportunity to join a high-performing Yorkshire-based business on a trajectory that offers both challenge and progression. You’ll be empowered to influence, lead and deliver tangible value, while developing the breadth and depth of experience that opens doors long-term.
For the right individual, this role offers:- Genuine visibility and impact
- Leadership responsibility
- Exposure to growth, including M&A, complexity and strategic decision-making
- A career pathway that can evolve well beyond the remit of this position
This opportunity will appeal to ambitious, high-calibre finance professionals who enjoy aspects of technical accounting, consolidation mixed with supporting strategic decision making. You may be looking for progression, challenge and likely someone who wants to be a part of something that’s going places.
