The Role

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Substance Misuse team with a friendly and supportive culture that values strong PPG values.

We offer opportunities to develop as a specialist in Health in Justice within substance misuse and primary care nursing.

Hours
  • Day Shift: 07:00 – 20:30
  • Early Shift: 07:00 – 15:00
  • Main Shift: 08:00 – 17:00
  • Night Shift: 20:00 – 07:30
  • Late Shift: 12:00 – 20:30
Salary

£23.83 per hour

Legal and Vetting

Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK and, due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

Responsibilities
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, prioritising patient care and developing individualised packages of care through comprehensive assessment and recovery planning.
  • Deliver a range of treatment options, including clinical and psychosocial interventions in both group and one‑to‑one settings with recovery at the centre of our healthcare wellbeing model.
  • Carry out comprehensive assessments, initiate and review individual recovery plans, and confidently communicate the full range of treatment options to service users.
  • Monitor therapeutic responses to medication and side effects, liaise with prescribers, and provide advice and information in one‑to‑one practice.
  • Support group work delivery and liaise with prescribers and Recovery Practitioners on clinical interventions; occasionally be required to support dispensing.
  • Maintain an understanding and commitment to recovery and a person‑centred approach.

Qualifications
  • Registered nurse with current NMC registration.
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development (CPD).
  • RCGP Section 1 in Substance Misuse or willingness to undertake.
  • Experience of working with opiate‑dependent patients.
  • Sound clinical substance misuse knowledge.
  • Non‑judgmental and compassionate approach.

Preferred: experience in hospital, community or prison environments.
