Job Summary

The Yorkshire Centre for Eating Disorders is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Band 3 Health Support Worker to join Ward 6 inpatient service, which is part of the CONNECT service. The ward is a 14‑bedded ward offering treatment to patients who are resident in the Leeds, Wakefield, Kirklees, Calderdale and Bradford areas.

The service offers inpatient assessment and treatment for patients with a diagnosed eating disorder, working closely with the CONNECT community team to provide seamless care.

Our aims are to manage significant physical risk and to manage this affectively. Offer a variety of evidence‑based psychological therapies and practical interventions. This will be in the form of individual sessions, and group work, all offered and led by all members of the MDT. Our care is person‑centred, and care planning is individualised to meet patient need.

Person Specification Essential Experience

• Has experience of working with ED patients or worked on a CAMHS unit or mental health ward.

Essential Qualifications

• Minimum L2/L3 qualification in Health & Social Care or commitment to achieve within 6 months of commencement. Equivalent skills, knowledge and experience will also be considered.

• Demonstrates a good understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a HSW.
