Payroll Manager

We are recruiting an experienced Payroll Manager to take full ownership of payroll operations within a fast-paced recruitment business based in Central Leeds . This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional with experience managing temporary worker payroll who is confident working in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.

The Role As Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end payroll process , ensuring accurate and timely payments for all temporary workers. You will be the main point of contact for payroll queries, compliance, and process improvement, working closely with recruitment and finance teams.

Key Responsibilities Manage and process weekly payroll for temporary workers Full end-to-end payroll processing using Merit payroll software Ensure compliance with UK payroll legislation , HMRC, RTI, PAYE, and statutory requirements Handle payroll queries efficiently and accurately Maintain accurate payroll records and reporting Work cross-functionally with recruitment consultants and finance teams Manage payroll deadlines and improve payroll processes where possible About You Proven experience as a Payroll Manager or Senior Payroll professional Experience running payroll within recruitment, temporary staffing, or high-volume environments Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and compliance Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills Confident managing multiple deadlines and stakeholders
