The RoleAs a Field Service Engineer, you’ll be at the heart of our customer operations, ensuring our medical devices perform flawlessly in high-stakes clinical environments. You’ll work closely with NHS and private hospitals across the UK, supporting clinicians, solving problems on-site, and keeping our technology running at its best.
Expect variety, autonomy, travel, and meaningful impact. This is a hands‑on role where no two days look the same.
You’ll typically spend 4 days per week onsite with customers and 1 day WFH
Key Responsibilities- Travel across the UK to install, service, test, and repair our medical devices.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and electromechanical issues quickly and effectively.
- Provide technical support to customers, clinical teams, and internal stakeholders.
- Observe device performance in live clinical / surgical settings and troubleshoot in real time.
- Carry out upgrades, modifications, and preventative maintenance.
- Maintain stock levels, tools, and calibration schedules.
- Accurately document all service activities in line with Good Documentation Practices.
- Represent the company professionally, building trust and long-term customer relationships.
- Share insights with technical, engineering, and product teams to help shape continuous improvements.
- Technical qualification (electrical, electronic, biomedical engineering, or similar).
- Experience in a field service or technical support role — ideally in medical devices or diagnostics.
- Strong hands‑on repair, troubleshooting, and fault‑finding skills.
- Comfortable with IT systems, reporting tools, and MS Office.
- Clear and confident communication skills.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide.
- Experience working in hospitals, theatres, or clinical environments.
- Familiarity with GDP (Good Documentation Practices).
- Ability to deliver customer training or product demonstrations.
- Self‑driven and able to manage your own schedule with minimal supervision.
