Junior Underwriter

Join our highly successful team of underwriters in Leeds, specialising in high net-worth property insurance.

As a Junior Underwriter, you will support the daily underwriting and processing of both commercial and residential risks, ensuring the acquisition of new business while gaining comprehensive knowledge of various risks to underwrite effectively.

You will cultivate and sustain excellent relationships with key clients and brokers throughout the UK, delivering a consistently high level of service.

• Assisting with the daily underwriting and processing of commercial and residential risks
• Reviewing and summarising files to gather pertinent case information
• Conducting legal research and handling special projects
• Proactively developing industry knowledge and staying informed on market trends
• Ensuring high accuracy in policy wording and documentation
• Developing and maintaining excellent working relationships with clients, confidently discussing policies with them.
• Adhering to company values, integrity, and regulatory standards
• Travelling to other company sites as required

• A 2:1 university degree, preferably in STEM, Law, Economics, Geography, or a related field
• Ideally, some work experience or internship in a commercial environment.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and technical abilities
• Confidence in building client relationships and communicating with executives
• Highly organised with meticulous attention to detail
• Demonstrates a proactive attitude and a willingness to learn and grow
