Mobile HGV Technician

Job Summary

The Mobile HGV Technician (Depot based at Widnes) is responsible for service and repair of a wide variety of vehicles including refuse trucks. Salary: £47,167.61 per annum + Bonus + Van.

Working hours:

Monday – Friday 07:00 – 16:30 with option to join the on‑call rota.

• Undertake routine inspection and repair of internal and external customers’ vehicles within the NRG workshop estate.
• Opportunity to join the on‑call rota.
• Work on HGVs and equipment from manufacturers including Mercedes, Dennis Eagle, DAF, Isuzu and Terberg.
• Undertake commercial vehicle MOT inspections, repair and final preparation for MOT test.
• Attend breakdowns, diagnose and complete necessary repairs to a high standard.
• Complete all compliance paperwork associated with repair and maintenance of the rental fleet.

• Experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Engineer, HGV Mechanic, Mobile HGV Technician or Mobile Fleet Engineer (essential).
• HGV technical qualification - NVQ or City and Guilds equivalent (preferred); time‑served experience will also be considered.
• Previous experience with auxiliary equipment advantageous.
• Experience in hydraulics and pneumatics advantageous.
• Class 1 or Class 2 licence preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills, a great team player and able to work on own initiative.
