Expression of Interest - Project Manager – Water Sector
This is an Expression of Interest to join Stantec as a Project Manager within our Water sector.
The OpportunityWe’re looking for experienced Project Managers with a strong background in the water sector to help us deliver resilient, sustainable water systems.
Join Stantec’s Water team, which sits at the heart of our mission to shape a better future for the communities we serve. With hybrid working and offices across the UK, you’ll have the flexibility to work in a way that supports collaboration, innovation, and balance.
Our teams work across the full water cycle – from water resources and treatment to wastewater networks, supply resilience and flood mitigation.
The RoleAs a Project Manager, you’ll play a central role in bringing complex, multidisciplinary projects to life. From early planning through to delivery, you’ll keep projects on track – managing programme, cost, quality and communication to build confidence with clients and motivate teams.
You’ll take the lead on project documentation, contracts and commercial performance, always with an eye on risk, opportunities and continuous improvement. Building strong relationships is key – you’ll be a key link between internal teams and clients, helping everyone stay aligned and focused on delivering great outcomes.
Safety will be a core part of your role. You’ll promote a positive HSSE culture and ensure teams have the support, training and clarity they need to work safely and effectively. You’ll also have the chance to support wider business development activities – contributing to proposals and helping to identify opportunities where our expertise can make a real difference.
As a Corporate Partner of the Association for Project Management (APM), we offer structured development, training, mentoring and support towards recognised qualifications such as the PMQ.
About You- Proven project management experience in the water sector and a track record of delivering multidisciplinary or infrastructure projects.
- Organised, detail-focused and clear in communication – qualities that build trust with clients and teams.
- Curiosity and a drive to question, explore new ideas and continually improve how we work.
- Solid experience delivering projects within the water sector and the confidence to lead multidisciplinary teams.
- A recognised project management qualification – such as the APM PMQ – is an advantage, but your proven ability to deliver, sound judgement and trust-building are most important.
You’ll join a friendly, knowledgeable and ambitious team working on projects that genuinely matter. We support your growth, help shape your career and provide meaningful impact on communities across the UK.
If you’re looking for a role where your expertise, ideas and curiosity will be welcomed – and where you can help deliver the future of water – we’d love to speak with you.
