Hours: 37 hours per week

Contract: Permanent

Location: Merrion House, Leeds City Centre and hybrid working

As an Asset Management Officer, you’ll thrive on supporting the successful delivery of asset and property projects which support organisational and service delivery change, contribute to continuous service improvement, meet service need and achieve efficiencies across the organisation. You will also contribute to feasibility studies, funding proposals, and contractor management, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

About you

As an Asset Management Officer, you will bring to the role:

  • Demonstrate experience of collaborating within teams to deliver complex projects across a large organisation, supported by strong report‑writing skills and the ability to manage and resolve conflict constructively.
  • Degree qualification, a relevant professional qualification or equivalent operational experience in a service area relevant to asset management and/ or regeneration.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build and drive strong working relationships across partnerships involving multiple stakeholders
  • Be compassionate and have emotional intelligence, with the ability to support and motivate to get the best out of people.
  • Experience of implementing creative solutions to complex problems and engaging with stakeholders in formulating outcomes.
  • Ability to build networks based on honesty, trust and respect.
  • Be flexible and adaptable, working to a varied work programme supporting a wide range of initiatives.

About the role

As our next Asset Management Officer, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of asset and estate related projects across the Council Directorates working with service leads. You will support and guide the Council’s Community Asset Transfer programme, working in partnership with colleagues across the organisation. Key to this role is working across sectors with a focus on strong, positive relationships, with the ability to negotiate, influence and to problem solve within complex frameworks.

As our next Asset Management Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of asset and estate projects across Council Directorates whilst working closely with service leads. You will support and guide the Council’s Community Asset Transfer programme and contribute to feasibility studies and funding proposals. Central to the role is building strong, positive relationships across sectors, with the ability to negotiate, influence, and resolve challenges effectively while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

The role is integral to our Asset Management team which sits in the Asset Management & Regeneration service in the City Development directorate. The team prides itself on curious thinking, problem solving and is outcome focussed to deliver at pace achieve not only the service objectives but also to contribute to the corporate wide agendas and deliver the Council’s budgets.

The work programme within the team is varied with a current focus on reviewing our locality estate portfolio, making recommendations for change to ensure we are shaping an estate which is efficient and fit for purpose.
