Senior Software Engineer – Front‑End

Flutter UK & Ireland is seeking a senior front‑end engineer to join the Reward and Free to Play tribe. The role focuses on delivering fast, innovative, and trusted experiences that enhance player enjoyment and provide valuable rewards across our UKI brands:
Sky Betting and Gaming, Paddy Power, Betfair, and Betfair International.

• Own the architecture and design of scalable, fault‑tolerant web and mobile systems, ensuring high quality and performance.
• Lead technical decision‑making, participate in architecture reviews, and mentor junior engineers.
• Champion code quality, security, and scalability through monitoring, alerting, logging, and continuous integration.
• Co‑create product stories with cross‑functional teams and coach engineers in technical skills.

• Solid experience building highly scalable, fault‑tolerant systems across web and mobile platforms.
• Deep understanding of design patterns, architectural principles, and best practices.
• Proficiency in React, JavaScript/Type Script, and building mobile apps with Swift, Kotlin, or React Native.
• Strong grasp of relational and non‑relational databases, messaging queues, and concurrent programming.
• Architectural and engineering leadership: owning system architecture and driving security, quality, and operational excellence.
• Exceptional code quality: delivering simple, high‑quality code that sets standards.
• Complex problem resolution: removing bottlenecks and building consensus across teams.
• Team empowerment and mentorship: developing colleagues and building a self‑sustaining team.
• Customer‑centric operations: ensuring system performance meets user needs and providing excellent support.

• Front‑end:
  React, JavaScript/Type Script, Node.js, PHP.
• Back‑end and infrastructure:
  Java, Spring, MySQL, Kafka, AWS, Kubernetes.
• Mobile:
  Swift, Kotlin, React Native.
