Finance and Payroll Officer

We’re a warm, ambitious and growing family of nurseries, and our Head Office finance team keeps it all running smoothly.

We’re looking for an experienced, organised Finance and Payroll Officer to run payroll and invoicing across our nurseries, working closely with our finance team, HR and Operations.

Your role

Payroll

• Run monthly payroll in Sage for our nurseries accurately and on time, sharing the runs with a colleague.

• Make HMRC submissions, pension contributions and statutory payments, and support year-end.

• Check every run before it is submitted.

Billing and invoicing

• Produce parent invoices for an allocated group of nurseries.

• Assist to process booking pattern changes, ad-hoc sessions and children added mid-term.

• Handle first-line billing queries to support Operations

Bookkeeping and cover

• Support the bookkeeping team with purchase ledger, bank reconciliations and supplier payments.

• Cover colleagues’ payroll, invoicing and bookkeeping during leave and busy periods.

What we’re looking for:

• Experience running UK payroll end to end in Sage or a similar system.

• Experience of high-volume invoicing, and solid bookkeeping skills.

• Confident in Excel, accurate, and comfortable meeting fixed deadlines.

• A calm, clear and courteous communicator, trusted with confidential information.

• Childcare or multi-site experience, and AAT or CIPP, are a plus but not essential.
