Aztrum are pleased to be partnering with a well-established and design-led Architectural practice based in Leicester, who are looking to appoint an experienced Associate Director to play a key role in the continued growth and direction of the studio.

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior-level architect with strong leadership skills and a passion for high-quality design to take on a strategic and hands-on position within a collaborative practice, delivering projects across sectors including education, industrial, and residential.

Key Responsibilities for this Associate Director role:

Lead multidisciplinary project teams from concept through to completion across all RIBA Work Stages
Review, produce, and coordinate high-quality technical and design information throughout the project lifecycle
Act as a key client liaison, managing and fostering strong relationships with clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities
Provide mentorship and support to team members, encouraging collaboration, innovation, and technical excellence
Have strategic input into the wider direction and development of the office and practice
Conduct site visits and represent the studio externally, promoting its vision and values within the industry
Apply a practical, problem-solving approach to complex design challenges
Travel to project sites across the UK as required
Work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment

Key Requirements for this Associate Director role:

Minimum 10 years’ industry experience, with a strong portfolio demonstrating a range of projects (schools, industrial or residential experience preferred)
Excellent leadership and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Strong knowledge of all RIBA Work Stages
A keen interest in high-quality design, detailing, and technical excellence
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Sketch Up, Adobe Creative Suite, and other relevant design tools
