Automation & Special Purpose Machinery

An established engineering business specialising in automated and robotic systems is seeking an experienced Software & Commissioning Engineer to support the development, commissioning and optimisation of complex automation equipment.

• Develop PLC software and HMI systems for automated machinery
• Commission and test special purpose machines in-house and on-site
• Fault‑find control, electrical and safety systems
• Program and integrate industrial robots (e.g. 6‑axis, SCARA, Delta)
• Support installation, modifications and performance optimisation
• Provide operator training and technical support to customers
• Work collaboratively with internal engineering teams

• Strong background in industrial control systems and automation
• Experience with major PLC platforms (e.g. Siemens, Omron, Allen‑Bradley)
• Robot programming and system integration experience preferred
• Good understanding of electrical schematics and pneumatics
• Proven commissioning experience on automated machinery
• Flexible approach to travel and working hours
• Clear communicator with a hands‑on, problem‑solving mindset
