The business has been trading for over 70 years and has a great reputation in their industry known for the quality of their products and the service they provide for their customers.

The business carries out a wide range of fabrication on their shop floor including welding, press brake work and CNC Plasma Processing allow them to make their products bespoke for their customers tailoring them to the exact solutions the customer needs. The business has new leadership in place, and the new senior team have ambitious plans to grow the business and update systems across the business to support this future growth.

With the new Technical Sales Engineer in place and retirements within the technical department coming up in the new year, a place for a new Proposals Engineer has emerged.

The Role The company manufacture a wide range of bespoke products including large filter systems, industrial ducting, fans and spray booths. The role of Proposals Engineer will work in conjunction with the Technical Sales Engineer. The Technical Sales Engineer will carry out business development activities identifying requests for quotes, the Proposals Engineer will then be responsible for dealing with the quotation and proposals process.

This process will typically include;
After the Sales Engineer carries out a site visit to understand and document the technical requirements of the design, the Proposals Engineer will flesh out the solution required in more detail and supply costing and quotations to the customer Costing the motors, fans, filters, etc required Working out the ducting runs required for the project and the costing of this including material and manhours Producing a 2D layout drawing to show proposed solution to the customer Working on several different proposals on a daily basis from bespoke projects through to spare parts or clients requiring COSH tests The Candidate To be successful in your application for this Proposals Engineer role you will need: A relevant Mechanical Engineering qualification 1 year minimum experience working within a similar technical costing/proposals/estimating role Experience providing and calculating costings AutoCAD 2D experience would be highly beneficial A background or understanding of costing for HVAC, Air Conditioning or Ductwork would be hugely advantageous The Benefits For this Proposals Engineer role, the following benefits are on offer: £30,000 – 40,000 Benefits ATA is committed to creating a diverse workforce and is an equal opportunities employer.
