Assistant Controller​/Analyst

We are looking for an Assistant Controller / Business Analyst to provide financial, commercial and operational support to promote growth, profitability and business change by working closely with key business stakeholders in Leicester.

On a day‑to‑day basis this is what you would be doing:

• Ownership and control of a key business area
• Manage financial month‑end processes including accruals, prepayment and journal entries
• Supporting the Business Control team in both operational and financial decisions
• Prepare and deliver monthly management accounts and divisional performance results
• Provide analytical insight and variance analysis to explain performance against budget, forecast and prior periods
• Maintain and reconcile the balance sheet
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial policies
• Develop and enhance reporting tools

We are looking for somebody who has experience in an accounting, financial control, statistical analysis or a planning role to provide analytical, commercial and financial support also to support the cross‑divisional objectives of the Business Control team.

• Accounting qualification or experience in accounting, financial control or management reporting
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Good negotiation skills
• Excellent working knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft programmes including Power
  
  BI, Power Pivot and SQL knowledge
• Good commercial awareness
• Effective communicator
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Experience in building and maintaining effective trust‑based relationships with multiple stakeholders
