Accounts Assistant – Drive Financial Accuracy and Customer Relationships
Are you ready to play a vital role in a dynamic finance team? We’re seeking a meticulous and proactive Accounts Assistant to support our financial operations, ensure smooth credit control, and maintain impeccable records. What you’ll do:
Manage credit control for approximately 200 customers, working towards monthly KPIs
Build and nurture relationships with key customers and suppliers to ensure timely cash inflow aligned with weekly cash flow forecasts
Input data accurately into Sage 200 and perform monthly statement reconciliations
Raise daily purchase invoices and credit notes
Book works orders and verify daily order checks against credit limits bi-weekly
Handle filing and perform various ad hoc finance duties
Periodically review customer credit limits to manage risk
Resolve queries efficiently and maintain clear communication across departments and with external stakeholders
Keep financial records up to date, including sales, purchases, and expenses
Required Skills:
Strong analytical and numerical skills
Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
Proficient in data entry and reconciliation processes
Effective communicator with team and external contacts
Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment
Nice to Have
Skills:
Experience working with Sage 200 or similar accounting software
Knowledge of credit control processes
Basic understanding of financial statements and reconciliations
Preferred
Education and Experience:
Previous experience in finance, accounting, or credit control roles
GCSEs or equivalent qualifications in Math and English; A-levels or higher are advantageous
Prior experience working in a busy finance department or similar environment
Other Requirements:
Ability to commit to maintaining confidentiality and high standards of accuracy
