Senior Care Assistant

Apply for the Senior Care Assistant role at HC-One

Full‑time role: 38.5 hours per week, day shifts 8 am‑8 pm. Full flexibility is required.

As a Senior Care Assistant at HC One, Kindness will be at the core of everything you do. It touches upon every aspect of our Dementia, Nursing, Residential and Specialist care homes. Every single person who works here understands that our residents are people just like them with their own stories to tell, and by joining us, you’ll have a wonderful opportunity to give something back to those people.

On a daily basis you will plan and implement care to give residents a real sense of security, dignity and independence. You will get to know residents and their families – ensuring we deliver truly personalized care plans. You will lead a team of Care Assistants, maintain the highest standards of care, and influence the rest of the team. Whether you are showing them how to use a walking frame, helping at the end of life to eat a meal, or talking to a resident’s family on the phone, you will do so with kindness above everything.

You will assist the Registered Nurse and Care Manager, provide essential physical and mental stimulation through activities, and administer medication.

Main duties include maintaining accurate records and building strong relationships with the team.

Qualifications & experience:

  • Level 2 Diploma S/NVQ in Adult Social Care (or equivalent) and working towards Level 3 (or equivalent).
  • Background in person‑centred care planning and knowledge of caring for people with dementia.
  • Excellent record keeping, time‑management and positive energy.
  • Kindness, compassion, creativity, courage and the ability to communicate with residents and colleagues.

About HC‑One:
We believe kindness is more than a word. We support residents to lead their best possible life. Our five qualities – curiosity, compassion, creativity, courage and being counted on – are the HC‑One Way.

All colleagues attend safeguarding training appropriate to their role. You must recognise abuse, harm or neglect signs, report concerns, and seek advice if needed.

Benefits:

  • Paid Enhanced DBS/PVG
  • Hourly rate subject to experience and qualifications

  • Nutritious meal for shifts of eight hours or more
  • Company pension scheme
  • 28 days annual leave incl. bank holidays
