Casual Community Support Worker

Vista is an independent, local charity providing information, support and care to people affected by sight loss who live in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. We have been supporting people affected with sight loss for over 165 years.

You will be required to work 15 hours per week,
Wednesdays and Fridays
. There may be additional hours to meet the needs of the service such as covering annual leave or sickness.

In this role you will;

• Carry out support as required by the client, assisting people to access their community for appointments, shopping or activities.
• Work with people within their own homes or assist them to travel to agreed destinations.
• Support the individual to access their own community, ensuring that the person’s choice is exercised fully.

Experience of working with visually impaired people, older people or those with disabilities, you should also have proven verbal and written communication skills, 4 GCSE or equivalent A- C, one must be English, have some understanding of health and social care, and will have supported people in the community for at least 3 years. A full driving licence and a car would be advantageous.
