Job description:
A local authority located in Leicester is looking to recruit an experienced Occupational Team Therapy Lead on an interim basis to provide cover for the Independent Living Service (ILS).
This role will oversee the Community Occupational Therapy (locality) functions, while also playing a key role in service improvement and implementing recommendations from a recent service review. The successful candidate will support the Council’s wider aims by delivering high-quality services, driving improvement projects, and working collaboratively across departments to benefit the local community.
Main Duties:
Provide interim leadership and operational oversight of the Independent Living Service (ILS)
Manage and oversee Community Occupational Therapy locality functions
Lead on service improvement activity and implement recommendations from the recent service review
Support the delivery of high-quality, timely, and proportionate Occupational Therapy services
Work collaboratively with internal teams, partner agencies, and key stakeholders
Contribute to strategic projects that improve outcomes for residents
Ensure services are delivered in line with local authority policies, procedures, and values
Maintain high standards of performance, governance, and accountability
Requirements:
Significant post-qualified Occupational Therapy experience
Previous experience in a senior, lead, or management OT role
Strong understanding of community-based Occupational Therapy services
Experience overseeing or working within Independent Living or locality-based services
Ability to lead service improvement and change initiatives
HCPC Registration
Enhanced DBS/CRB (assistance available)
Eligibility to work in the UK
Ability to work independently and take initiative within a local authority setting
